9 Jan 2010: David Scott Curtis tapped as the Green Party candidate for Governor, Nevada 2010

"Good morning, I learned this morning of the ( ) events in Haiti as some of you ( ) know by now, and I ask the leading Countries help in any way they can the people of Haiti as they react to the devastating quake.

On Sunday I learned I would represent the Green Party of Nevada as their candidate for Governor of Nevada. I am humbled by this request and I will attempt the task to the best of my abilities.

This week I'll be meeting w/ people in Las Vegas and Henderson and  gathering signatures as part of the process to get on the ballot as the Governor candidate. I'm hoping to complete that task in the next few days, after that I'm trying to get to Washington, D.C. and at Langley, Virginia there is a protest being organized there by Cindy Sheehan and others, it will take place (portion deleted) from 1pm-4pm Saturday. If you go to Cindy Sheehan's website(s), there's one called: Peaceoftheaction.org You can learn more about the event and choose to support it in whatever way you see fit.

Back in Nevada, I'm planning to attend meetings in and near UNR next month and am making arrangements with the Greens there to initially kick off the face to face dialogues with more people in Nevada and develop what will become our agenda if we are lucky enough to gain the office of Governor.

Currently I've formed a team of advisors, an open dialog that's initiated on a Facebook page, so if you go to (the) Facebook Group called Curtis4Governor, there are on-going discussions in the links there as we develop the agenda items for the next four years for Nevada's economy, the over-riding goal being to augment the gaming, and mining and Federal presence industries in any durable way...to repair and rebuild the Nevada economy.

Again, I'm very thankful for this opportunity and I look forward to meeting more and more of you. Please go to the website "Curtis4 Governor" on Facebook, it's a Group Page, if you type in those key words: "Curtis4Governor" you'll go right to it. Please see the discussions that are going on there, towards the top of the page is a discussions tab so if you go to that tab, there are over a dozen conversations taking place between essentially a dozen or so key advisors and you can see who those people are, they are linked to the site as well, thank you again and please direct your energies towards the situation in Haiti today and in the coming weeks and help in any way you can. Thank you."

Green Party NV 13 January 2010

p.s. many of these advisors are former residents of Nevada whom for various reasons chose to move away. So I see this as a rich mix of views that can help answer the questions how to repair and rebuild.
